Project Specialist/LRF & Rise Developer

 

Food Processing Skills Canada (FPSC) is seeking an experienced Project Specialist/LRF & Rise Developer (contract position).

 

Food Processing Skills of Canada (FPSC), along with various provincial associations and regional

representatives, will provide solutions to address the workforce challenges in Canada’s food and beverage processing sector by improving foundational and transferable skills of essential food industry workers within the Canadian Agri food supply chain, and by designing and implementing a nationally pre-tested training program focused on social emotional learning and essential and foundational skills that align with the Skills for Success (SFS) model. FPSC will develop and deliver tools, resources, and training programs, in both official languages, to employers and employees.

 

The project's specific objectives are to:

• Develop new and update existing online tools and training resources that align with the SFS model and are designed to support employers, workers, job seekers, training organizations, and service organizations, to help Canadians better prepare for, get and keep a job, and adapt and succeed at work within the Agri-food supply chain; and

• Provide industry stakeholders with tools and opportunities to learn about best practices in recruitment and retention within a skills-based developmental approach that aligns with the SFS model and supports modern hiring and HR management practices with diverse workforces.

 

The Contractor will assist the Company with Employer Outreach Manager for the” We Feed Canada: Skills for Success for Essential Workers”. In particular, the Contractor will provide the Company with the following services to recruit an additional 200 participants for the STAC Frontline Worker Training Program:

•              Attend meetings to ensure client & program communications are clear

•              Introduce Food & Beverage Manufacturing Processors to the We Feed Canada: Skills for Success for Essential Workers program

•              Encourage Employer (ER) to Apply

•              Encourage Registration form being completed

•              Follow-up with Employer on Registration Form – update team during weekly Work in Progress (WIP) meetings and/or as required

•              Perform Needs Assessment using Needs Assessment Tool and send document to We Feed Canada: Skills for Success for Essential Workers Project Coordinator to create Partnership Agreement.

•              Send completed Partnership Agreement to ER and update Project Coordinator & Project Manager when signed.

•              Pre-registration message with Primary Contacts

•              Pre-registration message with ERs, Associations

•              Attend Work in Progress (WIP) meetings, connect with ER on their company progress throughout the duration of the program

•              Other tasks as may be assigned to the Contractor by the Company from time to time

 

Pre-Registration Process           

•              Attend meetings as required to understand program and its requirements in order to be able to clearly communicate program with Food & Beverage clients

•              Introduce Food & Beverage Manufacturing Processors in your region to the STAC for Frontline Workers program

 

Registration Process

•              Encourage Registration forms being completed

•              Follow-up with Employer (ER) on Registration Form

•              Perform a needs assessment where applicable using the Needs Assessment Tool

•              Share Needs Assessment update with Project Coordinator to create Partnership Agreement.

•              Share Partnership Agreement with ER

•              Encourage ER to complete Partnership Agreement

•              Return signed agreement to Project Coordinator

 

STAC Program Communication

•              Pre-registration message with Primary Contacts

•              Pre-registration message with ERs, Associations

 

Participant Enrolment

•              Monitor client progress via WIP meetings reports

•              Connect with ER on progress with the program

 

On-boarding

•              Walk client through expectations for the program, via zoom and share “How To” videos when available if this is client preference

 

Employer Communication & Support

•              Stay connected with Employers, hand holding will be required

 

Learning and Recognition Framework Updates – Development of 6 LO and mapping of career pathways.

 

Map LRF to Skills for Success Framework:       

•              Map and ensure the seamless integration of the Learning Recognition Framework (LRF) with the Skills for Success framework, emphasizing vital workplace skills essential for navigating today's dynamic professional landscape.

 

Develop and Validate Learning Objectives:      

•              Engage SMEs to create LO for different topics in the LRF.

•              Conduct validation sessions to ensure that workplace essential LOs align effectively with the Skills for Success framework, enhancing their relevance and applicability in real-world scenarios.

•              Oversee the validation process, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in validating learning objectives.

 

Integrate Workplace Essentials into different levels of the LRF:              

•              Seamlessly incorporate workplace essential skills into different levels of the LRF, tailoring the framework to meet the diverse needs of individuals and organizations, thereby fostering skill recognition and development.

 

Create Career Pathways:          

•              Develop comprehensive career pathways that consider the elements of the Skills for Success framework, guiding individuals on their professional journey within the food processing industry.

•              Integrate essential workplace skills at different levels into career pathways to ensure alignment with industry standards and individual skill development goals, facilitating upward mobility and career progression.

•              Enhance existing career pathways to align with the requirements of the Skills for Success framework, facilitating career advancement and skill development for individuals within the food processing industry.

 

Convert 4 Znanja course content into the Articulate Rise Platform. Includes scripting, narration, activities, read on the go guides, interaction and videos.

The contractor will be responsible for collaborating with the project team to build instructional modules, including developing LRF models. You will utilize their experience and follow project documentation/guidance to produce LRF content that is both creative and engaging, as well as educationally sound and meets the needs of the target audience. The contractor will be also responsible for maintaining technical documentation for the FPSC course library.

 

 

A minimum of 5 years of experience is required.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field and a minimum of five years’ experience.
  • Expertise in the use of eLearning development tools
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Development of online courses for use in a learning management system (LMS)
  • Working knowledge of best practices in educational technology and instructional design theory
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with standard software (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn new applications as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience working on a team of instructional designers and elearning developers.
  • Demonstrated creativity in creation of instructional content, leveraging technology to enhance the learning experience
  • Ability to write effectively and communicate complex ideas
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Captivate, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, other Articulate 360 tools, and/or other eLearning programs is a plus.
