Job description
Reporting to the President of Apitipi Resources LP; the General Manager oversees the operations of a business by managing a team of workers from one or more departments. Will oversee how different departments and teams within the company work together, along with the relationships between teams and the business’s customers and clients. The General Manager will have to interact with customers or clients directly as well. Along with these responsibilities, the General Manager ensures that the business runs as Safely, efficiently, profitably, and productively as possible.
Job Duties
§ Control the implementation, administration, and monitoring of all training programs to ensure that employees are developed and utilized to their maximum potential.
§ Design of performance metrics to accomplish operational level goals
§ Management of staff concerning performance metrics
§ Sit on advisory committees for IBA and Exploration agreement negotiations and contracts.
§ High-level oversight of daily operations.
§ Create new strategies for growth and put them into practice
§ Oversee the budget and manage expenses to ensure the group of companies run to control overall expenses.
§ Coach and mentor new staff and lower-level managers.
§ Oversee hiring and termination of employees.
§ Evaluating productivity and performance and implementing strategies for improvement.
§ Keeping reports of business and employee performance.
§ Coordinating several teams and communicating with clients.
§ Acquire new contracts and negotiate terms of contract.
§ Improve operational efficiencies thereby promoting company strategic ad financial goals.
§ Capable to manage difficult work force through addressing concerns and one-on-one interactions.
§ Reach and maintain budgetary targets.
§ Oversee and implement safety programs to ensure safety is top priority.
§ Manage all SOP’s, policies and procedures for all companies to ensure best safety performance, reliability and production.
§ Manage implementation of disciplinary programs, progression plans and evaluation programs.
§ Oversee and manage incidents including support to department managers and supervisors to implement controls to ensure no-re-occurring incidents or patterns of behaviour would affect performance and not comply with SOP’s and policies.
§ Manage the develop employee relations program to maintain retention and reduce grievances.
§ Manage the implementation of benefit and compensation packages for all employees remaining fair and transparent.
§ Coach and manage drilling program and attain contracts while ensuring all employees demonstrate respect and follow all policies and procedures of each site.
§ Liaise with First Nations to ensure that all community expectations are met.
§ Create joint ventures and limited partnerships to build a resource that enable the company to ensure there are no opportunities missed in the FN territory.
§ Opportunities include training, employment, and revenue for the First Nations.
§ Company’s reporting budgets, employee relations, new contracts, issues arising, etc.
