St. Jacobs Glass Systems is conveniently located just north of Waterloo and south of Elmira. We are a glass company with experience and highly reputed services.

Position: Glazier (NOC 73111)

Number of vacancies: Two

Wages: $ 34.07 CAD per hour

Benefits: WSIB

Working hours: 44 hours per week

Work Location: 1553 king Street N St. Jacobs, ON, N0B 2N0

*Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Education Required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Job Duties: 

• Determine type of glass, frames and material required
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
• Measure, mark and cut glass
• Position and secure panes in frame
• Prepare tenders and quotations
• Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products
• Install door, window and other hardware
• Instruct apprentices
• Prepare shop drawings
• Repair glass doors and other glass structures
• Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment
• Supervise other workers
• Transport cases of glass
• Estimate costs and materials
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes and other lifting equipment
