Position: Automotive Service Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect all motor functions in operation and conduct road tests to determine the performance of the vehicle.
• Identify faults in automobile systems and components using computerized diagnostic tools.
• Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of essential automotive systems.
• Test systems after repairs to ensure they meet the manufacturer's specifications and performance standards.
• Execute scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
• Use hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment proficiently.
• Discuss work requirements and specific customer concerns based on work orders.
• Inform customers about the work performed, assess the general condition of the vehicle, and advise on future repair requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to industry safety standards and regulations.
• Update service records and document important information following each service.
• Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring availability of necessary components for scheduled services.

Job Requirements

• High school plus 2-3 years of experience or completion of a four-year apprenticeship program.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing automotive systems and components.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with automotive repair tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
• Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on automotive technology and repair techniques.
