Job Responsibilities:
Safely operate a commercial truck to transport goods between locations, following traffic laws and regulations.
Properly load and unload cargo onto the truck, ensuring it is secured and distributed evenly to maintain balance and safety.
Plan the most efficient and safe route to reach destinations on time, considering factors such as traffic, road conditions, and weather.
Regularly inspect the truck's mechanical and safety components, including brakes, tires, lights, and other systems, to ensure they are functioning properly.
Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and other relevant information required by the regulatory authorities.
Maintain communication with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers using communication devices like radios and mobile phones to provide updates on delivery status and any issues encountered.
Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, such as wearing seat belts, avoiding distractions while driving, and securing loads to prevent accidents.
Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines while ensuring safety and adherence to driving regulations.
Interact with customers and receivers at delivery points in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Handle emergency situations on the road, such as breakdowns, accidents, or adverse weather conditions, while prioritizing safety and communication with appropriate parties.
Stay informed about and comply with federal and state transportation regulations, hours-of-service rules, and other legal requirements.
Possess the physical endurance to spend long hours on the road, often in various weather conditions and diverse terrains.
Address unexpected challenges such as traffic delays, detours, and equipment malfunctions while maintaining a professional attitude.
Be flexible in handling changes to routes, schedules, and delivery requirements, while ensuring the timely completion of tasks.
Eligibility Requirements:
A Secondary school graduation certificate is the minimum educational requirement for this job.
No experience necessary; training will be provided.
A valid regular driver's license is often required to start the hiring process.
Appropriate certificates, memberships, or licenses preferably be required.
Background checks to ensure that one has no disqualifying criminal history.
A good understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards is crucial
Effective communication is important for interacting with dispatchers, clients, and other drivers on the road.
Strong communication skills in English are essential for understanding road signs, and regulations, and effectively communicating with others.

Salary: $35.00 hourly / 40 hours per Week
Overtime:1.5 times gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
