Job description:

Wage:  $32.50 per hour (full-time position, 40 hours per week)

Location of Work:  Various locations across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)

Skills/Job Description:

Ÿ  Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

Ÿ  Assist with building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring and erecting walls and roof systems

Ÿ  Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware

Ÿ  Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures

Ÿ  Assist Senior Rough Carpenters in the preparation of layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

Work Conditions/Job Requirements:

-      Large workloads

-      Overtime required

-      Physically demanding

-      Bending, crouching, kneeling

-      Handling heavy loads

-      Tight deadlines

Job Requirements:

• 2 years or more of experience in carpentry
• Ability to learn and develop practical skills
• Capable of observing all health and safety codes
