Job Duties
• Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions in company account
• Establish and maintain bank and credit card reconciliation on company accounts
• Calculate and file government remittances such as tax return, GST, payroll deduction, WCB and other filings
• Enter financial transactions in databases
• Administer payroll, including processing payroll, issuing pay cheques, calculating source deductions, vacation pay, issuing ROEs and T4s, investigating and resolving payroll issues
• Prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills
• Create and producing financial statements and reports, including trial balances, adjusting entries, both monthly and year-end
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements
• Interact with external certified accountant to produce year-end statements
• Ensure organization complies with all regulatory reporting and requirements
• Notify director of accounting errors or issues
• Report the financial performance and other information to the director
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
• Assist with general office administration including answering phones, filing, photocopying/scanning, dealing with mail, e-mail and couriers

Job requirements to qualify for position
• Completion of secondary school is mandatory.
• 2-3 years of related experience such as bookkeeper, accounting technician or finance officer is required. Completion of a college program or university degree in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field may lower the requirement of experience to 1-2 years.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Other qualifications: Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, High energy and strong work ethics to meet deadlines.
• Good information technology skills
