We are seeking a Web Designer for a full-time and permanent position of 30 hours per week. This role offers a salary range of CAD $33.50 to CAD $35.50 per hour, negotiable based on experience, with overtime pay at a rate of 1.5 times for hours worked beyond the 44th hour. Our office is located in Markham, ON. Fluency in English is required. This position is NOT available for telecommuting/remote work.

The duties and responsibilities for this position include:

- Design and integrate website related code;

- Determine hardware and software requirements to achieve optimal server performance;

- Write, modify and test website related code;

- Prepare mock-ups and storyboards;

- Provide advice on information systems strategy, policy, management and service delivery;

- Source, select and organize information for inclusion and design the appearance, layout and flow of the Website;

- Assess physical and technical security risks to data, software and hardware;

- Create and optimize content for Website using a variety of graphics, database, animation and other software;

- Develop policies, procedures and contingency plans to minimize the effects of security breaches;

- Research and evaluate a variety of interactive media software products;

- Develop and implement policies and procedures throughout the software development life cycle;

- Lead and co-ordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop Website graphics, content, capacity and interactivity;

- Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls;

- Usability testing.

 

You must have the following qualifications:

- Fluency in English is required;

- A bachelor's degree in computer science or graphic design or completion of a college program in computer science, graphic arts, or web design is required;

- 1 year to less than 2 years work experience.
