Electrical Mechanic
Hewitt is Eastern Ontario’s largest industrial maintenance repair facility. They offer complete maintenance service to industries in machining, electric motor repair, equipment overhaul, and welding and fabrication. Working with OEMs and consultants they have large fabricating, machining and assembly capabilities for projects and specialized products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Disassemble, assemble, test, and wind coils for electric motors up to 1500hp
Wind and connect forms, both random wound stators and small armatures.
Make forms and jigs to remanufacture specialty coils, such as magnet coils and transformers.
Conduct testing on AC/DC windings to verify condition, and perform machining and TIG welding on diverse mechanical components
Perform comprehensive balancing of rotating equipment, including repair and reconditioning of parts and equipment.
Carry out maintenance, testing, or refurbishment of AC/DC electric motors, transformers, generators, and pumps.
Qualifications:
Completion of high school is required
Trade certification as an electric motor system technician considered an important asset
At least 3 years of related experiences is required
Salary: We offer a salary of $30.00 per hour for a minimum of 32 hours per week
Bonus: Potential bonus of up to 15% of annual salary at employer’s discretion.
