Position Description
Position: Concrete Finisher
Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent
No of positions: 1
Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible
Work Location: Various locations in Lower Mainland area of BC and/or as per company’s contracts
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $35.00 per hour
Overtime and Vacation Pay

Relocation Assistance: $1000.00 CAD (for qualified candidates coming from different cities, provinces, or regions).
Job Responsibilities
- Inspect formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials for quality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Interpret construction plans and specifications to ensure accurate execution of concrete finishing tasks.
- Coordinate the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces to meet grade requirements.
- Correct imperfections by filling voids and smoothing freshly poured concrete surfaces.
- Utilize power vibrating equipment to compact concrete efficiently.
- Achieve precise surface levels according to specified grades and depths using straight edges or floating.
- Apply various hand and power tools to achieve desired finishes on concrete surfaces.
- Ensure the security of fixtures such as anchor bolts, steel plates, and door sills in freshly poured concrete.
- Apply appropriate hardening and sealing compounds to enhance surface durability and longevity.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and promote a safe work environment.
- Implement waterproofing and damp-proofing measures to protect concrete surfaces.
- Perform maintenance tasks including repairing, resurfacing, and replacing worn or damaged sections of concrete structures such as floors, walls, and roads.
- Collaborate with construction team members to coordinate workflow and ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote productivity and safety.
- Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements
- Completion of Secondary School.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or at 2-3 years of work experience.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to concrete work.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain precision in concrete finishing tasks.
- Flexibility to work in a team environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
