Salary: $ 34.62 per hour
Anticipated start date: As soon as possible
Work locations: Surrey, BC, and various other job sites in the Lower Mainland (BC) area as per the company’s contracts with its clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scrapping etc. and priming as necessary.
- Remove old wallpaper, and loose paint, repair cracks, holes, and other defects on surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.
- Protect unpainted areas using masking tape, drop cloths, and other protective materials.
- Mix and thin paint to obtain the desired color and texture.
- Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finish to interior and exterior surfaces.
- Apply wallpaper and fabric wall coverings by accurately measuring, cutting, and adhering them to walls.
- Ensure that scaffolding or ladders are set up, used safely, and dismantled after the work.
- Advise customer on selection of color schemes and choice of wall coverings when requested.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school.
- Completion of a three-to four-year apprenticeship program OR a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the same field is required.
- Ability to communicate in English.
