Dry Cleaner

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full-time, Part-time, Flexible hours, Shift

Salary: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour for 40 hours per week

Language: English

Start Date of Employment: As soon as possible

Job Duties

• Operate dry cleaning machines to dry-clean dresses, suits, coats, sweaters and other garments, draperies, cushion covers and other articles
• Sort garments and operate washing machines and dryers to clean and dry clothing, sheets, blankets, towels and other articles
• Operate machines to clean and blow-dry garments
• Mix and add detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches and other solutions and chemicals.
• Operate finishing equipment such as steam pressers, and use hand irons to finish pants, jackets, shirts, skirts and other dry cleaned and laundered articles
• Iron, press or otherwise finish garments
• Check finished garments and other articles to ensure that they are properly dry-cleaned or laundered
• Use hand-held steam iron to touch up finished garments and other articles
• Assemble and bag finished garments and other articles
• Keep the work area clean and tidy
• Operate laundering equipment

Job Requirement

• Completion of Secondary School is required.
• On-the-job training is provided. No prior experience required.
• Very basic communication skills in English are required.
• Ability to work for physically demanding work

Benefits

Position is entitled to benefits as per BC Employment standards act, 4% Vacation pay of gross salary will be paid each pay period with 10 days of unpaid vacation annual, or the option to choose 10 days of paid vacation annually with no vacation pay on each pay period.
