Job Responsibilities
- Operations Support: Assist the Site Manager in operational planning and oversee daily store functions to ensure a smooth and efficient customer experience.
- Team Supervision: Supervise staff activities, delegate tasks effectively, and ensure compliance with company policies, with a focus on maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control and product replenishment, placing orders for gas and retail items, organizing storage areas, and managing shelf displays to optimize product visibility.
- Equipment Oversight: Regularly inspect and maintain fuel pumps, POS systems, and other store equipment; arrange for repairs or replacements as needed to ensure safe operation in line with safety standards.
- Safety Checks: Conduct health, safety, and security checks to ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, including fire safety protocols, hazardous material handling, and emergency response plans.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed of consumer trends, seasonality, and local competitor activities to tailor product assortment and maintain a competitive edge.
- Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and establish strong relationships for reliable merchandise and fuel supply.
- Promotions: Develop and implement in-store promotions and loyalty programs to attract customers, working closely with the Site Manager to boost foot traffic and sales.
- Budget Management: Assist in budget oversight, monitor daily sales reports, control cash flow, and authorize expenditures within pre-defined limits to support store profitability.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by handling complaints and inquiries professionally, ensuring a positive shopping experience and encouraging customer loyalty.
- Hiring and Training: Oversee the hiring process with the Site Manager, participate in onboarding and training sessions for new staff, and foster a welcoming, supportive team environment that encourages retention.
- Scheduling: Organize and approve staff schedules to ensure coverage across all shifts, balancing labor costs with customer demand, and managing shift swaps and coverage in emergencies.
- Loss Prevention: Implement strategies to prevent loss, monitor high-risk areas, ensure security procedures are followed, and conduct regular audits to minimize shrinkage and theft.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and analyze regular sales and operational reports, providing insights to improve store efficiency, meet performance targets, and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Financial Accuracy: Oversee financial reporting and reconciliation processes, including end-of-day reconciliations, cash handling, and deposits, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Job Requirements
- Education in business or a related field would be an asset
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role, ideally in retail or customer service.
