Job description:
Our family in Toronto, Ontario is looking for a Home Support Worker for a 80-year-old senior.
- Salary: $20.00 per hour
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Scent free
- Work Location: Unit 1707, 5001 Finch Avenue East, Scarborough, Ontario, M1S 5J9; Must work in employer's/client's home.
Job Duties:
- Assist senior with bedside and personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding, and providing reminders for medications.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to senior.
- Plan and prepare meals tailored to the senior' needs and preferences.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on patience and attentive listening.
- Handle housekeeping responsibilities such as dishwashing, room tidying, laundry, and related tasks.
- Ensure the senior's environment is safe, comfortable, and nurturing.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with family members and supervisors about the senior's health and well-being.
- Provide first-aid or CPR when necessary to ensure the senior's safety.
Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School (High School) is required.
- Previous experience in the same field and/or previous full-time training in the field will be an asset.
- First Aid Certificate; CPR Certificate would be an asset.
- Must be patient, friendly, reliable, organized with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
