Job Duties
- Take customers’ orders. Use Point of Sale system/cash register to record the order and compute the amount of the bill.
- Collects payment from guests and make change
- Serve customers at counter
- Portion, assemble, wrap food and package take-out food
- Keep records of the quantities of food used
- Prepare, heat and finish simple food items
- Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash
- Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
- Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner while greeting guests and preparing their orders
- Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist kitchen staff
- Clear and clean tables and trays in eating establishments
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwasher or by hand
Employment requirements
- No specific education requirements. No degree, certificate or diploma required
- No prior experience is required. On the Job Training will be provided
- Basic communication skills in English
- Ability to stand in kitchen for long periods of time and carry out physical tasks
- Ability to provide consistent and reliable services in preparation and delivery of food
Benefits
As per BC Employment Standards Act, 4% vacation pay of the gross salary each pay period or 10 days of paid vacation (worker will choose).
