Responsibilities
- Prepare dough and ensure consistency and texture
- Estimate food requirements for their realization
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Chop, slice and prepare sauces based on restaurant's menu
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment
- Add garnishes and sauces to enhance appearance and flavor of dishes.
- Follow recipes to prepare baked items, such as bread, pastries, and desserts.
- Check appearance and texture to meet restaurant's standards
- Adjust cooking times to ensure food is cooked perfectly and avoid overcooking or undercooking.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work areas
