Wage: $36.25 per hour
Vacation: 10 days per annum

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:
- Teach painting (including acrylic, watercolor, oil pastels, sketching, colored pencils, and craft courses) to children aged 5-12.
- Teach using a systematic plan of lessons, demonstrations, discussion groups, and independent and group projects.
- Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses.
- Prepare, administer, and mark projects, papers, and tests to evaluate students’ progress.
- Provide individualized tutorial or remedial instruction to students who require it.
- Supervise independent or group projects.
- Supervise teaching assistants.
- Serve on committees concerned with matters such as budgets, curriculum revision, and course requirements.
REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree, a college diploma, or demonstrated expertise in the field of visual art.
- At least 18 months of experience as a children’s art teacher.
- Proficient at creating PowerPoint presentations and designing teaching materials based on curriculum requirements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong creative thinking skills and demonstrated use of creative teaching techniques.
- Outgoing, lively, and skilled at engaging children in a classroom atmosphere, with clear teaching logic and strong classroom management skills.
- Highly adaptable and skilled at handling unexpected situations.
- Passionate about art and aesthetic appreciation.
- Patience, compassion, and approachability are preferred.
