Mariachi´s restaurant opened in April 1998, gaining popularity over the decades across Canada and around the world. We offer traditional Mexican cuisine in Toronto.

Mariachi´s restaurant is seeking a dedicated Cook with a passion for preparing delicious Mexican food.

Position: Cook (TEER 63200)

Number of vacancies: 1 (one)

Salary: $34.07 CAD / per hour

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Work Location: 2084 Yonge St., Toronto, ON M4S 2A3.

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work conditions: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend

Terms of employment: Full-time and Permanent position

Language Required: English 

Education Required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience Required: 2 years to less than 3 years

Job Duties: 

  • Co-ordinate special events
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  • Provide input into menu planning.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas
  • Train staff in the preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Order or assist in ordering supplies and equipment
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  • Monitor inventory records
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Organize buffets and banquets
  • Manage kitchen operations
  • Complies with sanitary regulations in food preparation process.
  • Maintains close communication and works cooperatively with  the restaurant manager
  • Efficiently manage multiple orders simultaneously, maintaining speed and accuracy in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Ensure all food items are stored properly and used according to guidelines to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
