Education
High School graduate; graduate of culinary programs preferred but not essential
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of North American Cuisine
- Preparation of sautéed items and their sauces
- Preparation of fish, meat and poultry dishes, butchering these and preparation of appropriate sauces
- Preparation of roasted and braised meats
- Grilling and frying foods
- Preparation of hot appetizers, pasta, soups and vegetables
- Preparation of cold dishes
- Set up and oversee buffets
- Supervise kitchen helpers
- Overseeing subordinate personnel in the preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Ensuring the quality of food
- Clean kitchen and work area
