Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver (NOC 73300)

Rate of pay: $28.20 an hour 
Overtime: 1.5 times the normal rate as per provincial regulations.
Benefits Package: 4% vacation pay will be paid each payday on a bi-weekly basis,

Hours: 40 - 60 hrs. per week

Minimum Education: Completion of Secondary School is required.
Experience: A minimum of 7-12 months of experience in a similar position.

Job Duties:
• Transporting Goods: Safely load, transport, and deliver goods across long distances, including interprovincial and international routes.
• Vehicle Operation: Operate heavy trucks, such as tractor-trailers, for extended periods, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Pre-trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition, reporting any issues to maintenance.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including those related to the transportation of hazardous materials, if applicable.
• Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes to ensure timely deliveries, utilizing GPS and other navigation tools to find the most efficient paths.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, working hours, and vehicle maintenance in compliance with Canadian Hours of Service regulations.
• Cargo Handling: Secure cargo properly using appropriate restraints and ensure safe loading and unloading practices.
• Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, dispatchers, and customs officials, providing updates and resolving issues during transport.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all Canadian transportation laws, including those set by Transport Canada and provincial authorities.
• Border Crossing: Manage documentation and processes required for crossing international borders, including customs declarations and inspections.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking oil, fuel, and water levels, and coordinating with mechanics for more extensive repairs.
