Nurse Aide

Job details:

  • Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Working Location: 292 Wellington Street, St. Thomas, Ontario
  • Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hr/Week)

●      Compensation: $18.77, two weeks of paid vacation and public holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Accompany patients in outdoor recreational activities.
  • Carry out additional tasks related to patient care and comfort.
  • Handle various responsibilities related to personal hygiene and care.
  • Monitor patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Change bed linens and keep patients' rooms organized.
  • Oversee patients’ exercise activities.
  • Keep track of supply inventory.
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
  • Transport patients using a wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Respond to call signals to assess patients' needs.
  • Collect samples for testing.
  • Provide first aid during emergency situations.

 

Requirements:

•            College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

•            First Aid Certificate

•            CPR Certificate

•            English or French proficiency is a must

•            1 year to less than 2 years

•            Attention to detail is important for this position

•            Combination of sitting, standing for extended periods, walking, and working under pressure

•            Bending, crouching, kneeling
