Job Responsibilities

• Assist early childhood educators in delivering programs that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Help with children's daily care needs, including feeding, dressing, diapering, and toilet training, ensuring their well-being.
• Organize and prepare classroom materials, equipment, and spaces for activities like storytelling, crafts, and playtime.
• Observe children’s behavior and development, maintaining records and sharing observations with educators or supervisors.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and inviting classroom environment that encourages children to explore, create, and make independent decisions.
• Follow and implement lesson plans and daily schedules based on the Montessori curriculum, engaging children in fun and educational activities.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and maintaining daycare equipment when needed.
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss children’s progress and any concerns, working with the team to ensure each child’s success.
• Ensure a safe, healthy environment by adhering to all health and safety guidelines at all times.
• Support children during transitions between activities, helping them feel secure and comfortable in the learning environment.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a positive classroom culture that values respect, kindness, and inclusivity.

What We’re Looking For

• Completion of secondary school.
• A passion for working with young children and a commitment to their development and growth.
• Experience or familiarity with the Montessori philosophy and materials (an asset but not required, as training can be provided).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to work harmoniously with other educators and support staff.
• A positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the varying needs of the children and the classroom environment.
• An Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate (or in progress) is a must.
