Job Duties
Safely transport cabinets, boxes, wood, materials, and tools to and from warehouse, job sites, suppliers, or customers, mostly within British Columbia.
Ensure that all items are properly secured and protected during transit to prevent damage.
Assist in the loading and unloading of cabinets and materials, ensuring that everything is handled carefully to avoid damage.
Use equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks if required and if certified to operate them.
Coordinate delivery schedules with the company’s production team and customers to ensure timely arrivals.
Communicate effectively with dispatcher, customers, and site personnel about delivery times and any potential delays.
Inspect goods before and after transportation to ensure they match the order and are in good condition.
Complete necessary paperwork, including delivery receipts, and any required documentation.
Interact professionally with customers and construction site staff, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during delivery.
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a positive manner.
Perform routine checks and maintenance on the truck to ensure it’s in good working condition.
Report any mechanical issues or required repairs to the company.
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving.
Ensure that all safety protocols are followed during loading, transport, and unloading.
Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
Be prepared to adapt routes based on traffic conditions, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Keep track of inventory and materials during transport and report any discrepancies or shortages.
Communicate regularly with the warehouse or production team to ensure smooth operations.
Employment Requirements
Class 1 or A Driver’s License and Air brake endorsement are required.
1-2 years experience is desirable. However, No experience is necessary. On the job training will be provided to willing candidates.
Proficiency to communicate in basic English.
Willing to travel, for extended periods, overnight.
Ability to communicate with dispatcher and management.
Clean driving record.
