Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist who can do setup of parts on the machine as per the guidelines. The ideal candidate should be able to handle multiple jobs simultaneously while ensuring timelines and quality standards are met. In addition, the role involves providing guidance and training to junior staff members.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Blueprint & Model Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, models and technical documents to determine machining requirements.

Setup and Operation: Assist in the setup and operation of CNC machines to ensure accuracy and efficiency of production. Able to setup tools as per programmes and can edit programs as per the tool size.

Tool Selection: Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and holders for each job to maximize efficiency and quality.

Process Optimization: Continuously improve machining processes to reduce cycle times, enhance quality, and minimize waste.

Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using precision measuring instruments. measuring instruments. Make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to CNC programming and machining processes.

Collaboration: Work closely with machinists, engineers, and other team members to achieve production goals and maintain high standards of quality.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of programs, tool libraries, and setup sheets. Update and revise documentation as needed.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements and Skills: 

Experience: Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.

Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Technical education or relevant experience preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code, Canned cycle), experience with various CNC machines and proficiency in 5x programming and principles and work and setup different machines (Haas and Fanuc controls).

CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, CAM Works, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) knowledge will be an asset.

Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in programming and machining.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and document processes.

On site

 Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
