JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DRYWALL INSTALLER AND FINISHERS (NOC 7284)

Bender Painting & Decorating Ltd. located at 12837 76 Ave, Surrey, BC V3W 2V3, is one of the Lower Mainland’s most reputable painting and restoration companies operating since 1970. Our company specializes in Painting and Restoration work using top quality painting by top quality painters. We also offer full insulation services and full drywall services or drywall repairs as well as wallpaper services in both residential and commercial sites. Our business is growing, and we need 5 professional drywallers/finishers to join our team.

These are full-time, permanent positions working 40 hours per week.  The successful candidates will have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of drywall/finisher experience.  The salary is $27.50 per hour.  We offer medical and dental benefits after 6 months of full-time employment. 

Duties include:

• Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall.
• Apply and smooth coats of plaster using trowels, brushes, and spraying equipment.
• Finish corners and angles to homeowner satisfaction.
• Cutting and install plaster panels and trim.
• Spray or texture finish over walls and ceilings.
• Measure and cut drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings.
• Position and secure sheets to studs and joists.
• Install corner bead to protect corners.
• Fill joints, holes, and cracks with mud using trowel and broad knife
• Tape joints and embed them in drywall. 
• Apply additional coats and sand seams and joints to homeowner satisfaction. 

• Operate power tools safely and with precision
• Overtime maybe required occasionally

Education and Training Required:

• Must have a minimum of 7 months to 1 year of experience
• Must be physically fit and able to lift at least 100 lbs
• Must be safety conscious
• Must have own safety boots
• Must have clean criminal record
• Must be able to speak, read, write English
• Must be at least High school graduate
