Location: Mississauga, ON L5S 1A7
Salary: $29.25 per hour for 35 hours per week
Number of vacancies: 1
Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
- Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
- Turns and presses knobs and buttons to adjust and start welding machine.
- Enters operating instructions into computer to adjust and start welding machine.
- Stops and opens holding device on welding machine, using hand tools.
- Reads production schedule and specifications to ascertain product to be fabricated.
- Maintain accurate records of welding operations, repairs performed, materials used, and any other relevant information as required by the company.
- Coordinate with other members of the repair team, mechanics, and supervisors to ensure effective communication and seamless workflow.
- Provide support to mechanics and repair technicians as needed, particularly in tasks involving welding expertise.
- Inspects metal work piece to ensure specifications are met, using measuring devices.
- Adds chemicals or solutions to welding machine to join or bind components.
- Complete welding tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines and prioritizing tasks as per repair schedules.
Basic Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some technical or vocational training in welding operations can be advantageous.
- Prior experience of 1 to 2 years as a welder or in a similar role is beneficial. Experience in using different welding machines and tools can be advantageous.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques such as arc welding, MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, and other relevant methods.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines related to welding operations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Practical communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and relevant personnel.
- Understanding of basic mathematical calculations and measurement skills to ensure accurate weld dimensions and alignment.
