JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at Xeno Fashion Boutique Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for providing top-quality upholstery services, including fabric selection, cutting, sewing, and installation. Your expertise will help us deliver exceptional comfort products and furniture solutions to our clients.

JOB TITLE: Upholsterer

JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES:

• Consult with clients to select upholstery fabrics, colors, and styles, and provide cost estimates for services.
• Measure, cut, and lay out upholstery materials based on design specifications.
• Replace worn-out webbing, springs, and other components using hand and power tools.
• Operate sewing machines or sew upholstery materials by hand to assemble cushions and join materials.
• Install padding, underlays, and secure covering materials to furniture frames.
• Apply ornamental trims, braids, or buttons to upholstered items.
• Upholster various items including aircraft, motor vehicles, railway cars, boats, and ships.
• Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces as needed.
• Create upholstery patterns from sketches or customer descriptions.
• Maintain and repair interior components of aircraft, such as seats, coverings, and other components.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Secondary school completion is required.
• 6 months experience in furniture upholstering and repair is required.
• Completion of a specialized course or apprenticeship in furniture upholstering and repair will be an asset.
• Good communication skills in English language

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

• Physical demands include standing, handling materials manually, bending or twisting, repetitive motions, and walking.
• Work environment involves indoor settings with standard safety equipment, potential skin injuries, exposure to dangerous chemical substances, hazardous conditions, and noise.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent Full-time, Long-term.

WAGES: $24/Hour

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week

OVERTIME: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations.

BENEFITS PACKAGE:

• Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer.
• Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis
