Work Schedule: Day, Monday to Friday

Salary: CAD$40.5 per hour

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Business or a related field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one-year related work experience in investment analysis is required.

Overview:

We are looking for a candidate with expertise in conducting fundamental and quantitative equity research and presenting the actionable investment ideas and strategies. This role requires close monitoring of the current equity market, performing in-depth research, analyzing data, and making information-based investment recommendations. As an incoming analyst, you are expected to be involved in a variety of transactions along with financial advisory assignments and providing ongoing assistance to the portfolio managers.

 

General Tasks:

  • Evaluate financial risk
  • Collect financial and investment information about companies, stocks and other investments
  • Examine and analyze financial and investment information (profiles of companies, stock prices, yields and future trends)
  • Prepare company, industry and economic outlooks, analytical reports, briefings notes and correspondence
  • Provide investment advice and recommendations to clients, senior company officials, pension fund managers, securities agents and associates
  • Analyze investment projects
  • Analyze data and prepare reports
  • Conduct research

Specific Tasks:

  • Conduct in-depth and thorough investment research and analysis of various investment opportunities on US Equities and corresponding options.
  • Perform daily screenings to identify the most actionable option and stock trading ideas by analyzing market trends, economic conditions, company performance and other relevant data.
  • Prepare market commentaries & investment memos based on research findings and present them during daily briefing sessions to traders and the management team.
  • Assist in developing robust financial models and forecasts to assess investment performance and potential returns, supporting investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and other team members to develop effective investment strategies and recommendations.
  • Participate in the due diligence process for potential investments by conducting company valuations and analyzing financial statements.
  • Evaluate and summarize insights from new and established research sources for internal review.
  • Draft portfolio performance reports on a regular basis for management team approval and communicating the findings with clients.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge on Options is required.
  • Ability to perform corporate financial analysis and financial modelling.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Previous quantitative and qualitative research experience is an asset.
  • Having a certification of CSC/CFA/CMT is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented
