Responsibilities
Tasks
- Cut, trim, and otherwise prepare standard cuts of meat and poultry for sale at self-serve or according to customer’s order.
- Skin, clean, and trim meat processing.
- Grind meats and slice cooked meats using powered grinders and slicing machines as per requirement.
- Weigh meats and tag containers for weights and contents.
- Manage inventory, and determine the amount, product line, and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements.
- Ensure that the storage of meat is in a clean and healthy environment.
- Use knives, cleavers, meat saws, bandsaws, or other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming.
- Adhere to food safety standards and ensure food storage conditions are adequate
- Shape, lace and tie meats, poultry or goat and may wrap or package fresh or frozen or prepared meats Slice cooked meats
- Prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products
- Shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood
- Prepare special orders
