Job title: Truck driver

Location: 16 Cadetta Road, Brampton, ON L6P 0X4

Salary: $25.00 to $29.00 hourly (to be negotiated)

Vacancies: 20

Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time 40 to 60 hours / week

Employment conditions: Day, Early Morning, Flexible Hours, Morning, On Call, Overtime, Shift, To be determined

Job Duties 

Drive, load, handle and transport materials and heavy cargo safely; Pickup goods and supplies, verify the load for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed; Drive heavy and freight trucks in team or individually as required; Follow instruction; locate and read location and maps; Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport long routes; Perform roadside repairs and perform brake adjustments in case of emergency; Maintain details about cargo, hours worked, distance covered and fuel usage; Conduct and inspect the brakes, tires, lights and oversight of all vehicle components every time pre and post trip; Report any accident or vehicle issues encountered while driving to supervisor/dispatcher

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)

AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Driver's License (Class 1 or A)

Security and Safety

Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam

Experience and specialization

Documentation knowledge

Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Driver logbook

Transportation/travel experience

Local, Long-Haul

Communication Systems Experience

Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment

Work conditions and physical capabilities

Large workload, Overtime required, Physically demanding, Sitting.
