Job Responsibilities
- Prepare walls and ceilings for plastering by cleaning, taping, and repairing holes or cracks.
- Analyze blueprints to determine the layout and plan of plastering work.
- Mix plaster ingredients to achieve the desired consistency suitable for the application.
- Apply, level, and smooth plaster coats using tools such as trowels, floats, and brushes.
- Pre-inspect surfaces prior to plaster application for contamination or imperfections.
- Apply acoustic materials or texture finishes to walls and ceilings.
- Craft and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Spray finishes over walls and ceilings to provide a final touch.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards, ensuring a secure and hazard-free workspace.
- Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs as required.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
- Communicate with customers to keep them apprised of progress and potential issues.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance duties on existing plasterwork.
Job Requirements
- Completion of Secondary School
- Completion of apprenticeship program OR minimum 2-3 years of experience in the relevant trade.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
