Position: Tilesetter

Job Responsibilities
- Prepare the surfaces to be tiled by measuring and marking them according to the layout and pattern.
- Cut tiles and other related materials using hand and power tools to fit around obstacles and openings.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning and leveling them, ensuring they are ready for tile installation.
- Mix and apply adhesives such as mortar, cement, mastic, or glue using hand trowels or other appropriate tools.
- Position tiles and tap them into place carefully using tools to ensure alignment and evenness according to the design plan.
- Utilize levels, squares, and straightedges to ensure that the alignment and level of tiles are accurately maintained.
- Install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets on the underbeds and substructures to support tiles.
- Cut, polish, and finish marble and granite, and install them in designated locations.
- Ensure that decorative tile layouts and detailed design plans are implemented to enhance aesthetic appeal.
- Replace broken or damaged tiles and make repairs to existing tiling to restore surfaces.
- Seal and finish tiled surfaces using appropriate grouting compounds.
- Maintain tools and equipment for tiling work, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Adhere to safety standards and local building regulations during all tiling projects.
- Other duties as needed to ensure the success of the project.
Job Requirements
- Completion of Secondary School.
- Completion of apprenticeship program OR minimum 2-3 years of experience in the relevant trade.
- Good Communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
