Position Description

Position: Painting Supervisor

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Greater Victoria, BC

 

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $34.62 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of painting of both interior and exterior areas.
  • Coordinate and schedule the activities of workers.
  • Hire, train and general management of all workers on the project.
  • Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by adhering to and enforcing safety codes.
  • Record site observations, employee hours and health and safety statistics.
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and, coordinates work activities with other subcontractors.
  • Ensure all painting work is completed within trades methods, quality and timeliness standards, and project objectives.
  • Make estimates of materials required for jobs.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Resolve work problems and, implement measures to improve productivity and quality.
  • Manage the procurement of materials and workers necessary to complete the project.
  • Monitor work progress for each project.
  • Prepare work progress reports.

 

Job Requirements

  • Completion of high school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant trade.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Understanding of the principles, methods, and techniques of painting.
  • Knowledge of preparation techniques and painting materials and tools.
  • Ability to set priorities and exercise flexibility where necessary
  • Strong leadership capabilities and able to motivate and direct work crews
  • Understanding of proper safety procedures and recognition of hazards
  • Positive and cooperative attitude
  • Personal integrity and sense of responsibility
